Australian Race Season - Event Wear At It’s Finest including Aje and Atoir

We love to dress up for special occasions whether it be for a wedding, a much-anticipated holiday or a cocktail party. But no one has event wear mastered like the Aussies. As much as it pains me to say this as a Kiwi, (not really), they just have a knack for pulling an outfit together that makes a real statement. They love colour, a feminine aesthetic and some sort of statement feature to the garment. This three-pronged formula makes them instantly identifiable when scrolling through Pinterest and Instagram.

Having lives in the UK for over 10 years I struggled with shopping g for event wear when I was invited to all the social events I used to go to before kids sucked every last adult activity out of my calendar. I constantly compared the endless boring dresses to the amazing frocks I knew I could get back home for half the price by designers like Aje, SIR The Label and Atoir. So much has changed now and the landscape for buying and renting beautiful dresses had accelerated beyond belief but I still felt that feminine yet ‘cool’ look that only Antipodeon designers could master wasn’t so readily available unless you were an underground super fan nerd who followed the brands on Instagram and were willing to take the risk to shop from the other side of the world, pay customs and hope to the heavens it would be the perfect fit, length, colour, cut. this blog post is a highlight of the recent Melbourne Cup and all the amazing dresses by our designers and beyond. Atoir, which we stock, featured again and again on the blogs due to the numerous high profile clients modelling their threads. Aje, who are also in Style Odyssey's designers portfolio was spotted on so many beautiful ladies thanks to stylist Marina Didovich who is a fan. Other brands like Alicia McCall, Acler, Tony Micevski and the iconic Zimmerman all made heads turn on the Australian beauties modelling them.
